Objectives of the collaboration project INCOME

INCOME is a collaboration project within systems medicine. Systems medicine allows to integrate heterogeneous datasets to achieve a comprehensive understanding of all processes within the human body. Thereby, it improves disease prevention, diagnosis, and therapy.

INCOME aims to facilitate a networking community that brings models and datasets as well as their developers closer to each other. Most research projects are limited to individual pathways, models, and datasets that are rarely used again. The main reasons are that model re-use, extension, and integration remains challenging due to improper annotation, non-standard implementation, and inaccessibility of the experimental data.

Within e:Med many pathway models have been created in a wide variety of projects. The main objective of INCOME is to interlink and connect these models as much as technically possible.
